Food is fuel, especially for learning. 🍎
Our menus are designed by our kitchen crew in collaboration with our young people. By offering visible menus and a variety of choices, while maintaining a level of consistency, our young people have access to quality meals that help them stay focused and ready to participate actively in school life.
During our Student Support Group Meetings (SSG), we not only identify our young people’s barriers to learning but also consider barriers that may include foods, textures and smells. In this way, young people have agency and voice in their whole school experience, which food is a big part of.
Every young person at our seven physical campuses is welcomed to a daily meal prepared by our kitchen teams. Sharing food together strengthens relationships, supports wellbeing and reflects our commitment to equity, ensuring all young people have the nourishment they need to engage fully in their learning.
Our menu includes vegetarian and gluten‑free options each day, as well as the option for young people to bring food from home if they prefer. 🌱✨

We are incredibly proud to see Dakota and her family featured in the Herald Sun as part of a national conversation about supporting young people’s mental health.
The article highlights a critical issue: millions of young Australians are expected to face anxiety and depression by age 20, and experts are calling for major investment in school based programs focused on bullying, racism, resilience and social and emotional wellbeing. These priorities strongly align with the work we do with young people every day, across our 8 campuses, to give them the wraparound support to reconnect with education.
Australian teenagers are increasingly experiencing depression and anxiety, a reality Dakota’s mum knows all too well. She shared that Dakota’s struggles began at just nine years old and intensified through bullying, school refusal and multiple moves between mainstream schools. By the time she found Saints College, Dakota was, in her words, “a mess,” but she says the wraparound mental, social and emotional support at Saints, along with individualised learning and genuine engagement, changed everything. “Schools need to be better equipped. We need to start from the ground up and if we can save even one child, it’s worth it,” she said, adding that without action “we are going to have a lot of sick adults.” Today, she describes Dakota as being in a much better place, reconnecting with creativity and confidence, and says simply, “They [Saints] are amazing. I wish there were more schools like them.”
We are deeply grateful for Dakota, her family, and our incredible staff who make this work possible every day.

In celebration of National Youth Week, we’re taking a moment to look back and honour the voices, achievements and growth of our young people.
This throwback features last year’s inaugural Awards Presentation, where we recognised the resilience, progress and accomplishments of young people across our 8 campuses.
Every day, we empower young people to have agency in their learning journey. That might look like choosing how and where they learn best, starting a club, or exploring an industry taster or academy partnership opportunity.
However that looks for each young person, we see and celebrate the growth of every unique individual.

Welcome back to all our young people for 2026! 💛
Across our seven campuses and our online campus, BlendED, we know that returning to school can bring a mix of emotions. Excitement, nerves, anticipation, the joy of reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. Every feeling is welcome today, and so is every young person.
Classes are starting the day with Circle Time and a Working Agreement to set shared expectations for the day ahead. These daily routines establish rhythm, routine and trust, and set the wheels in motion for a successful year.
To all our parents and carers, thank you for trusting us with your young person. We look forward to welcoming them all today and wish them a wonderful start to 2026. 💛

🎒✨ We’re getting ready to open our doors to young people tomorrow! ✨🎒
As part of our start‑of‑year preparation across all eight Saints College campuses, we’re holding Student Support Group (SSG) meetings – an important part of how we build strong relationships from day one.
SSG meetings bring young people, parents and carers onto campus to meet with their teaching partnership – their teacher and education support staff – to:
✨ Put a face to the name and build early trust
✨ Set expectations and meaningful goals for the term
✨ Share interests, strengths and hopes for the year
✨ Identify challenges and discuss strategies to navigate them
✨ Explore the curriculum and set the pace for learning
✨ Build common ground through a shared understanding of what success can look like
Every young person arrives with their own unique story. SSGs help us understand how to best support each individual so we can offer learning that is flexible, engaging and responsive to their needs.
Starting the term this way means young people walk into Day 1 feeling more prepared, connected and confident, knowing exactly who’s in their corner for 2026.
We can’t wait to welcome our young people back into our learning communities for 2026. 💛

Yesterday was a milestone for Saints College. For the first time, we came together at the Catholic Leadership Centre to celebrate our inaugural Awards Presentation and recognise the achievements and growth of our young people.
Our talented young person Megan played the cello so beautifully, setting the tone as families arrived. Proud Yorta Yorta man Lachlan Hill opened the event with a moving digeridoo performance, and our Ballarat and Bungaree school captains led us in prayer to begin this auspicious occasion.
Michael Crowe, our Executive Principal, spoke about the countless stories that have shaped Saints College over the past 13 years and brought us to this point. These achievements aren’t just certificates. They tell a bigger story of persistence and transformation.
We were treated to an inspiring keynote from one of our alumni, Joey Eruera. Joey shared his journey from challenges in mainstream school to enrolling in a Masters in Youth Work and now working as a research assistant at the Saints Knowledge Institute. He spoke honestly about the challenges he faced and how Saints staff supported him every step of the way, from encouraging him to explore new pathways to helping him see what was possible. Joey started with a Certificate IV, then a Diploma, then a Bachelor, and now a Masters. His story was a powerful reminder that big achievements begin with small steps and the courage to take opportunities as they come.
We welcomed young people from all eight campuses to receive awards and milestone certificates. It was wonderful to see families there with such pride and belief in their young people. After the formalities, we shared food, photos and laughs. For those who couldn’t join us, the event was livestreamed across our eight campuses.
Congratulations to every young person recognised yesterday!🙌

This week is Trans Awareness Week. We’re taking this moment to stand beside trans and gender diverse young people, families, and communities.
At Saints our guiding truth is that every person deserves to feel safe, valued, and free to be themselves. We are committed to creating spaces where all young people can thrive, no matter their identity or background.
This week (and every week) is about showing up with unconditional positive regard for every young person.
We talk a lot about radical inclusion and what that really means and looks like in practice. It means listening deeply, removing barriers, and making sure every young person feels seen, heard, and supported. It means creating learning communities where difference is not just accepted but respected and celebrated.
